Day 13

Today it was a quick run out to the hutches as there was a storm blowing in. The kids are doing great! They seem to be pushing some of the hair out of the box so apparently they are trying to tell me they are growing up! Here are a few quick pix I took before the storm. Enjoy!!

Day 12

Wow has it really been 12 days already??? They definately have their eyes open now!! And HOORAY the white one does NOT have red eyes!!! Although she isn't so white anymore she is more gray. I was not able to sex them before they got their hair in. It appears that they got their fur on their tummy overnight!!! They seem to also be sleeping in different corners now too. I can definately tell you that Flip (the speckled one) is going to be the biggest of them all and that Dip (the brown one) is going to be the smallest. These are the first photos of me holding each baby. They would be better if I had a third arm. Excuse the terrible manicure....I've been camping all weekend!! Enjoy!!!

Day 11

So these photos were from Saturday (Day 11). They were taken by Timmy. As you can see they are feeling a little frisky and are getting to roam around the box!! Won't be long and they will probably be jumping out of the box. Enjoy!!

Day 10

Sorry I am running behind. I am blaming it on the weather. It's been so nice this weekend that I haven't had the time to get on the computer. I went out Friday morning and it appeared that Skip and Flip were about to open their eyes. So I guess my prediction was wrong. Enjoy!!!

Day 9

Still no peeping but they have all day for them to open. They are getting so big already. It really is amazing how fast they grow. It will be a busy weekend but hopefully I will be able to keep you posted on their progress!!

Day 8

The count down is on!! I still believe that their eyes will begin to open tomorrow!! They are getting very fat!! I am so very excited to see their eyes. Momma is doing a great job at taking care of them. She is still pulling her hair to keep them covered....WAY TO GO MOMMA!!! Enjoy these cute pics I took this morning!!

Day 6

I would like to introduce you all to Flip, Skip and Dip. Flip is the speckled one, Skip is the white one and Dip is the tan one. This morning I think I startled them but they quickly cuddled back up and went back to sleep. Therefore, I only got one picture. The others were too blurry from them popping around so much. I can't imagine cuddling in all that fur that surrounds them in this weather....my family is lucky they can hug me in this humidity!! (I'm kidding...I love my family)

Day 5

What a lovely muggy day!! Can you imagine laying in a bed of fur all day in this humidity??? SO glad I'm not a rabbit. Well, we have been trying to think of names for these three precious babies. Tim says Flip, Skip & Dip. Deb said Snap, Crackle and Pop. If any of you have suggestions, please feel free to let me know. No, we have not yet sexed them. Probably in another week I will handle them. They are doing great. I caught some cute pics of them sleeping this morning. I hope you enjoy

Day 4

What a beautiful morning!!! The sun is shining and the humidity isn't too bad yet. I remembered this morning that I have yet to share pictures of the Mom & Pop of this bunny operation. The first picture is Diesel, he is the proud Poppa! The second is Momma (that's her name) and as you can see she has some bald spots where she has been pulling out her hair to provide a nest for her babies. The next three photos are that of the babies. They are still popping around like popcorn when they hear their Momma. She really is doing a great job. I can't get over how much bigger they are than just 3 days ago. Well, I'm off to workout....see you all tomorrow!!

Day 3

This morning I went out and they were covered up with fur again so maybe Momma is trying to tell me something like, "leave my children alone!" Of course I didn't touch them I just stuck the camera in the box and snapped three (3) consecutive pictures. They are not the best, but you can get an idea of how in 2 days their hair is already starting to come in! We thought we would have a spotted one for sure, a white one for sure and then we thought the third would be gray, but it appears it will be tan. I have not sexed them as of yet since I still do not want to handle them. I will keep you posted!!

Day 2

I went to check on the babies this morning and they were poppin around like popcorn looking for their momma. She was at her water dish filling her tank up for another long night of feeding. For those of you who don't know, rabbits only feed their babies once a day which is usually between midnight and 5 a.m. The mothers also feed while standing. They are not like dogs and cats who lay down to nurse. I can say I'm glad I'm not a rabbit!! Here are three more pics of the babies that were taken this morning....

WOWSERS!!!!

I can't believe it has been that long since I have posted. I guess with all the Facebook and Myspace out there no one really reads these blogs anymore. Well I'm going to use this blog spot as a diary of the newest additions to our family.....our 3 beautiful bunnies!! This is Momma's second batch but the first batch didn't make it. She was bread again 2 weeks later and now we have 3 healthy babies. I will try to document their lives daily.

Back to the other family though....it was a rough 2009 but it 2010 is bound to be GREAT!!! Brooklyn was in a terrible four wheeler accident on May 21, 2009. She has healed up beautifully and is still as crazy as ever! She tried out again for the Junior High Cheer Squad and made both the football and basketball squads for 8th grade!!! We couldn't be more proud of her!! She has overcome so many obstacles and still comes out smellin like a rose!!! That's my girl! She's a fighter and those of you who know her well know that she fights for what she wants.
